Fun at Mulligans

We went to Mulligans with the kids to hit some range balls.  Jay and Roxy had to share a bucket of balls and the kiddie sized club. They did so well taking turns, there was no fighting!  What good kids.

The golf  balls the kids were hitting even made it on to the grass!!

Joe had fun teaching Roxy proper form. She looked so cute hitting those balls.

Yes, even my golf balls made it onto the grass........ Maybe not as far as Joe was hitting them, but they did go farther than the kids!LOL

After range balls we decided to take our talents over to some mini golf.  It was a bit heated between Joe and I.  The game was tied for the first half then Joe was ahead by 4 strokes. I wasn't about to let him win so I made my move and took over the lead by 3.  Now tensions are high, the kids are starting to get bored and we only have a few holes left. Joe is unable to regain his lead and at the final hole I make the one and only hole-in-one of he game.  I won by 6 strokes!

Roxy is in love! At least it is with my dog, she say's Merlin is her best friend. I LOVE IT! It is the sweetest thing ever.
Roxy loves to work in the yard. She knows what the weeds look like and will put on her little gardening gloves and set to work. She also will go around and pick up any sticks and put them in the bucket before Joe mows the lawn. 
Watering the flowers and bushes is a new favorite. Jay will also work in the yard picking up sticks as well, his job is shoveling up the dog poop! 
I decided to take my workout outside this day. I had to jump rope in between my sets and the kids had to get in some exercise as well. Jay LOVES to jump rope!
Roxy had a hard time trying to pick up my weight ball, but she did do some lunges and then danced around on my exercise mat.

ROXY IS 3!!!!!!

 We just had a party for Roxy's 3rd birthday. We had invited family and close friends to join us for some fun in the sun at Seven Peaks Water Park in Provo. The kids all had so much fun, as well as the adults. We did some floating down the lazy river and some tube slides. Jay and Joe flipped as they came out one of the slides and Jay said he was never doing that one again! Roxy and I had a blast on our tube slide and she couldn't wait to do it again.  I did get Jay to go with me on a slide, but not on the same one he went on with Joe. We also had pizza, cake, and a goodie bag for all of the kiddies. Needless to say we were all pooped when it was all said and done.
We still had to open presents when we got home, Roxy got some really fun stuff. A few dress ups, a new barbie with her own cherry convertible, a standing microphone just to name a few.
Roxy did want some help to open her presents, I think she was just tired and wanted to be a little lazy. Can you blame her we were all tired! Joe's parents also came over with a present for Roxy, but she was being stubborn and we had to coax her to open it. At first she wanted nothing to do with it, but then when she saw what was in the bag she got excited again.
I had Leslie from work make Roxy's birthday cake. Roxy wanted a princess cake and it was PERFECT! Everyone loved it! Roxy had to wear the shoes right away. The cake was so yummy there wasn't a crumb left uneaten.

Happy Birthday Roxy! You are a big 3 year old now, we love you!

The big day! There were 800+ triathletes up at Echo Lake. The water really wasn't cold or maybe I was too nervous to really notice. My wave started 5 minutes before my dad's. Once in the water It was hard to move my arms I think I may have gotten the wrong kind of wet suit. I had to get onto the rescue boat by the time I finally made it to the first bouy and take it off, then continue on to the second which seemed too be getting further and further away from me. I was so tired and the only other swim stroke I knew how to do was doggy paddle so I did. Finally I made it and then it was pretty quick from there to the third and final bouy. All I wanted to do was get out of the water and on the bike! I was not the very last one out of the water but I was in the final 10, So it is on between me and the lake now!

The kids had fun too. There was a craft area set up and they got to make puppets, blow bubbles and make colorful bracelets. They were even given cow bells to ring and cheer the athletes on! They were such good troopers since they had to get up at 5:15 a.m.!
Transition area, only athletes allowed in here. This is were you keep your bike, towel, shoes, helmet, etc. after each event you pass through here and get ready for the next. The goal is to not take too much time in the transition area. I went without socks. Have you ever tried to out socks on wet feet? It's not that easy.
The weather was perfect. It was a little over cast so it wasn't hot which was so nice.  The bike was a little hard I am not good at hill climbing on it yet and went slow on those parts of the race, but the rest was pretty easy. The run was on dirt instead of road which was fun, and it's not as hard on your knees. 

Here comes my dad. He did AWESOME! He totally beat me. Joe had a hard time getting pictures and couldn't ever see me because of the kids 20 trips to the bathroom.  So after a 750 meter swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 5k run I felt pretty good the next day. I was a little tired but not sore at all. I will do this again and I am training for the Daybreak Triathlon  on Sept. 19. I am going to try and get some practice swims in at the lake there and see if I can exchange my wet suit.

Forth if July Party '09

Third annual 4th of July party at Carolyn's house. After eating BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, and other yummy goodies, it was finally time for the big firework show out side.

We were all starting to get a little tired. It had been a long day for the kids.

We also had cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday to Roxy and Carolyn's sister Hailee. Roxy still has chocolate on her face.

Getting Prepared

Kellie has two weeks left of training for her first Triathlon! Getting a little nervous about the bike ride since Joe just started putting it all together this week end! She is feeling good about the swim, and the run will be easy. It is a sprint triathlon so it is not one of the really long races. The swim is 750 meters (she swam 800 meters in 17:45) the bike is 12 miles (about 40 minutes) and then a 5k (under 30 minutes). Well see how well she does! It 
Roxy is going to be turning 3 on July 8, 2009. She is so excited and when ever I ask her how old she will be on her birthday she excitedly holds up four fingers and says " I going to be free!" It is the cutest thing ever! We will be having a family party for her at Seven Peaks Water Park in Provo. It's going to be a "SPLASH"

The kids have been having so much fun on the new trampoline they got for christmas. They could jump all day and night! Jay has even camped out on it with Joe. There most favorite thing to do on the tramp is to get in there swim suits, turn on the sprinkler underneath it and jump.


Jay is now a Pre-School Graduate! It was so much fun, all the kids had a line they had to memorize and say in front of everyone. Jays was "P is for Play our favorite thing at school"  He didn't say it very loud but he did put his silly personality into it. His teacher Miss. Becca  also had a lot of cute, funny, and sweet things to say about each one of the kids in her class.
Jay however didn't like wearing the gown they gave him, it was too hot, and he couldn't wait to get it off, then we made him put it back on so we could take more pictures. 
They all sang a couple of songs they had practiced. Jay would sing them at home to me, he was very proud to do so.  There was also a cute video of all the kids and the fun things they get to do at school. All of the kids had big smiles on there faces in every picture so in makes me feel good to know Jay has fun and really likes his class and the friends he's made there.  Jay will also be going to Kindergarten with some of his buddies from pre-school. After the ceremony was over they all got to eat cake!
